After Saddar, Karachi’s anti-encroachment operation has been extended to other parts of the city.
Encroachments in Nazimabad, Malir, North Nazimabad Block H, Paposh Nagar, Liaquatabad Supermarket and Gulshan-e-Iqbal have been cleared. These encroachments were outside shops and houses.
More than 200 illegal shops and stalls set up on footpaths have been demolished in the Liaquatabad Supermarket.
The authorities have also decided to remove encroachments from drains, footpaths, parks and roundabouts.
The anti-encroachment drive began after the orders of the Supreme Court. The drive aims to restore Karachi to its former glory by removing encroachments that are not just an eyesore but also disrupt traffic and leave little space for pedestrians.
