Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Anwar Kasi cleared of misconduct

In its second major decision in the span of 24 hours, the Supreme Judicial Council cleared on Friday the Islamabad High Court chief justice in the misconduct cases against him.

It has rejected the four petitions against Justice Anwar Kasi.

Of the four references against him, the biggest accused him of illegal appointments. Another accused him of illegally appointing his brother at the IHC.

On October 11, the council recommended that the president remove IHC Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui after finding him guilty of misconduct over a speech he delivered in July before the Rawalpindi District Bar Association.

President Arif Alvi removed him the same day.
