Two Sindh University students go missing in 15 days

The university administration and police believe one girl ran away to get married

A student of Sindh University went missing from near the Jamshoro railway tracks on August 29. A second student disappeared from the university hostel on September 9.

The girls’ parents have lodged abduction cases with the police. The cases have been registered under Section 365-B of the Pakistan Penal Code. The law enforcers have collected evidence from the university and recorded statements.

Sindh University Registrar Dr Muhammad Salim Chandio believes the fact that two students went missing in two weeks is just a coincidence.

ASP Suhai Aziz said that the university administration is cooperating with the police. “The police have already started the investigation,” she said.

According to the police, the second year class representative of the university’s zoology department has been taken in for questioning.
