The world should recognise Pakistan’s efforts for peace, stability, Chinese foreign minister tells COAS

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Saudi Information Minister Dr Awwad Alawwad in separate meetings.

Wang Yi discussed with the army chief security regional security and bilateral cooperation.

He said Pakistan and China’s relationship is based on mutual respect.

He recognised Pakistan’s efforts for regional peace and stability, adding that the world must recognise it too. He also expressed his appreciation of the security provided to Chinese nationals working on CPEC and said China believes in ‘inclusive prosperity’.

General Bajwa thanked the Chinese foreign minister for his support.

Wang Yi also met Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi during a series of meetings on Saturday, where he discussed Chinese support for the new government’s plans to revamp the economy.

At another meeting with Saudi Information Minister Dr Awwad Bin Saleh Al Awwad, issues of mutual interest were discussed.

Dr Awwad praised the strong and brotherly bilateral ties between the two countries and reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s support to Pakistan in its efforts to maintain peace and stability.
