The PTI’s nominee for president, Dr Arif Alvi, exuded confidence as he walked into the joint session of the Senate and National Assembly on Tuesday.
“We will secure a victory with a big margin,” he remarked while speaking to the media before the voting process for the presidential elections started.
“I am thankful to [PM] Imran Khan for nominating me for the post,” he said.
A hopeful Alvi said that Pakistan will come back on the path to progress in the next few years. “I will try my best to dispense justice to people at their doors,” he added.
Alvi promised to ensure that 20 million children across the country get access to education and that everyone gets health facilities.
The voting for the presidential elections is currently underway and polling will end at 4pm. Alvi is up against two contenders from the opposition — PPP’s Aitzaz Ahsan and MMA’s Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
