After MDA official’s jeep snatched, number of official vehicles stolen in Karachi hits 17

Another day, another official car stolen. A jeep being used by the Malir Development Authority’s assistant director was stolen from Karachi’s Defence.

The jeep was stolen from outside the assistant director’s house.

The case has been registered at the Gizri police station. Anti-Car Lifting Cell SSP Munir Shaikh said they have already started looking for the jeep.

This year, 17 official vehicles have been stolen in the city and not a single one has been recovered.

Sindh Assembly Secretary GM Umar Farooq’s car was snatched in Sachal Goth, a neighbourhood in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on September 10 and Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar’s car was stolen in Defence on September 8.

Both cars were being driven by the officials’ drivers when they were snatched.
