Millions were spent on the RTS yet it crashed, says the CJ

The chief election commissioner was probably asleep the night of the elections as he did not bother to answer my calls, remarked Chief Justice Saqib Nisar

Millions of rupees were spent on the Results Transmission System yet it crashed on the day of the election, said Chief Justice Saqib Nisar.

“I do not know how the Election Commission is functioning,” said the chief justice (CJ) while hearing a case regarding the nomination papers of Abida Raja.

According to the top judge, he called the chief election commissioner thrice the night of the elections. “He was probably asleep the night of the elections as he did not bother to answer my calls,” remarked the CJ.
