Sessions judge unharmed after car comes under attack by militants in Tangir

A sessions judge’s car came under fire in Diamer’s Tangir on Sunday. The passengers in the vehicle remained safe.

After 12 schools were destroyed in Diamer, the police launched an operation on Sunday in which one militant was killed.

The 12 girls’ schools were set on fire in various areas in Gilgit-Baltistan on Thursday night and Friday. The police launched an operation to find the culprits behind the vandalism.

A militant was also killed in the crossfire when the police and militants clashed in Tangir.

On Saturday night, a policeman was killed and two others were injured while they were trying to find the culprits.

Police arrest a suspect involved in attacks on Diamer schools

Gilgit Baltistan Police IG Sanaullah Abbasi said that the militant has been identified as Jangju Shafiq. He said as of Sunday, 31 suspects have been arrested.

The operation is under way in Diamer’s Chilas, Darel and Tangir areas. The areas have all been sealed and entry and exit has been restricted.
