A school in Balochistan’s Pishin district was vandalised and set on fire, SAMAA TV correspondent Sami Tareen reported Tuesday.
Furniture in the girls school, that houses only two classrooms, was burnt by known assailants in Khanozai tehsil of Pishin.
Four female teachers educate at least 60 students at the school in one of Balochistan’s remote areas.
The school already lacked basic facilities. It was closed for summer vacations when the attack took place.
No FIR of the incident was registered. However, security forces are investigating the incident. They have detained several suspects.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Pishin, Aurangzaib Badini denied the incident, claiming that the fire erupted in one of the classrooms.
On Thursday, unidentified assailants burned down at least 12 schools in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Diamer district, causing panic among residents.
