The constant supply of electricity was ensured ahead of the election for ‘political gains’, said Senator Shibli Faraz.

Senator Faraz presided over a Senate special committee session on Wednesday.

According to officials of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), even those areas were supplied extra electricity that incurred 70% line losses to the company.

PESCO officials said people did not pay all of their dues after using the extra electricity. In four months, PESCO suffered losses of Rs4 billion due to non-payment. Their losses will rise to Rs38 billion in the next eight months.
