A Punjab Cooperative Bank building caught fire in Lahore on Friday. Interestingly, the building in which the bank is located had the Ashiana and Paragon Housing Scheme records stored at it.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, reported SAMAA TV correspondent Usama Durrani. The records of these housing schemes as well as a number of others were on the sixth floor of the building and the fire managed to engulf the whole floor.
The fire was reported at 6am and a snorkel was dispatched to the site. It took about an hour to control the flames.
A committee has been formed to investigate the cause of the fire.
Farooq, a rescue worker at the site, said that no lives were lost in the incident. He said some records were burnt in the fire.
The cases of the Ashiana Iqbal Housing Scheme and Paragon Housing Scheme are currently being investigated by NAB.
