The ECP has banned voters from taking their mobile phones inside polling stations during the elections.

It says the move is to ensure free and fair polls.

According to a notification, only electoral staff and presiding officers will be allowed to keep their mobile phones with them.

However, only the presiding officers are allowed to keep their mobile phones on.

The rest of the staff will have to seek permission from the presiding officers to use their mobile phones.
