Up against the MMA heavyweights in Upper Dir this election

July 23, 2018

As with Lower Dir, Upper Dir is also considered a Jamaat-e-Islami stronghold and it has given tickets to influential people for the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal platform.
Upper Dir has:
From NA-5, expect a neck-in-neck competition between the PTI’s Sahibzada Sibghatullah and JI/MMA’s Sahibzada Tariqullah. But if the vote shifts, it could benefit the PPP’s Najmuddin Khan.

In PK-10 the MMA’s Muhammad Ali is fighting the PPP’s Malak Badsha Saleh along with half a dozen of independent candidates.

In PK-11, the MMA’s Azam Khan is considered the strongest candidate as he is a JI man. The PPP’s Sahibzada Sana Ullah is expected to give him a tough time.

In PK-12, the MMA’s Inayat Ullah is considered to the most popular choice and he has a personal vote bank. The only person who is expected to give him a hard time is Najam ud Din who is also running for an NA from this constituency on the PPP ticket.
