Sindh headlines: Risk of election violence, PML-N wiped out from Shikarpur

1. 65% polling stations in Sindh at risk of violence
Daily Kawish, Hyderabad

The Election Commission of Pakistan has declared 65% of the polling stations and polling booths in Sindh ‘sensitive’ or ‘very sensitive’.

There are a total of 17, 747 polling stations in Sindh, of which 5,776 have been declared ‘sensitive’ while 5,673 are ‘very sensitive’.

2. PPP plundered Sindh in 10 years: Shah
Daily Ibarat, Hyderabad

Syed Ghous Ali Shah, the Grand Democratic Alliance candidate for NA-208 Khairpur, addressed his supporters during an election campaign against PPP heavyweights.

“The PPP is responsible for the devastation of Sindh. People are not going to vote for the corrupt elements who plundered this province in the last 10 years,” he said.

3. Sindh begins daily monitoring of health department
Daily Awami Awaz, Hyderabad

The Sindh government has decided to monitor the performance of health officials and paramedics on a daily basis.

All commissioners and deputy commissioners have been directed by the chief secretary to visit government hospitals and file daily reports on doctors’ attendance, cleanliness and other administrative matters in the facilities.

4. PPP wipes out PML-N from Shikarpur district
Daily Sindh Express, Hyderabad

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Shikarpur district president Dost Muhammad Chandio and all district office-bearers and workers announced that they were joining the PPP ahead of the general elections.

Chandio and his party colleagues announced their support for PPP candidates Mir Abid Bhayo (NA-198) and Imtiaz Sheikh (PS-7).
