Sindh headlines: Minister’s dual nationality challenged, slum areas neglected

1. Sindh caretaker minister has dual nationality
Daily Kawish, Hyderabad

The caretaker Sindh minister for culture, Syed Junaid Shah, has a dual nationality, according to a former Supreme Court judge, Justice (retd) Zia Pervez from Transparency International. He has written a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan to take notice of the minister’s foreign nationality.

2. GDA leaders determined to wipe out PPP from Sukkur, Ghotki
Daily Ibarat, Hyderabad

The Grand Democratic Alliance will form the next government in Sindh. We are going to wipe out the Pakistan Peoples Party from the province, including from Sukkur and Ghotki districts, and emerge as its alternative force, said GDA candidate for PS-22 (Sukkur) Sardar Ali Gohar Mahar. While addressing election rallies, he said the GDA will soon form an alliance with the MMA in Sindh.

3. Hyderabad slum areas deprived of basic facilities
Daily Awami Awaz, Hyderabad

Different slum areas of Hyderabad, the second largest city in Sindh, lack basic facilities due to the negligence of authorities.

In the neglected areas – Sehrish Nagar, Qadir Nagar, Shahbaz Colony, Bakhtawar Colony and other neighbourhoods around Qasimabad – there is no electricity, water supply, roads, drainage or health facilities.
