The motorway police has come up with two plans for the arrival for Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz’s arrival in Lahore. Party workers are attempting to reach Lahore to hold a rally in their support.
As per Plan A, the motorway will remain open and according to Plan B, the motorway will be closed in an emergency situation. Preparations for both plans are complete, said the motorway police.
According to SAMAA correspondent Ali Jarh, containers and barbed wire have been brought to seal Bedian Road, DHA and RA Bazar leading to the Lahore airport. A heavy contingent of police is also present. So far, the roads have not been blocked. It is expected that the blockades will be placed by 3pm.
The caretaker government has announced that a shuttle service will run in the city to take people to the airport for their international flights.

New Ravi Bridge, Old Ravi Bridge, Sagiyan Bridge, Shera Kot, Thokar Niaz Baig Road, Jinnah Terminal, LOS Naka, Muhafiz Town, Khayaban-e-Jinnah, Pace Society, Bhobatiyan, Gajju Matta, Kot Lakhpat, Mehfooz Chowk, Zafar Ali Ganda Nala Mall Road crossing, Niazi Shaheed Interchange, Underpass China Scheme, Mehmood Booti Interchange, under-construction Sialkot Interchange, Lakho Daira Underpass, Quaid-e-Azam Interchange, Harbanspura Interchange, Burki Interchange, Abdullah Gul Interchange, Nawaz Sharif Interchange, Kamahan Interchange, Gajju Matta Interchange, Adda Plot Interchange, Karol Ghati Underpass, Mehmood Booti Interchange, Chungi Do Gadge, Mill Chowk, Dhobi Ghat Road, Zaman Park, Corner Ittifaq Hospital, Ittifaq Masjid, Lane no 1 opposite Nawaz Sharif Park, Traffic Post Chowk, Chowk AB Block near Corner Nawaz Sharif Park, A Block Market Model Town Park, Tanki Ground, Stage Ground, 96/H Model Town, DPS School Chowk, Model Town Circular Road, Nawab Cricket Club, Chowk ICI paint factory, Gate Nawaz Sharif Park Ferozpura Road, Model Town Mor and 180 Model Town will be sealed with containers.
Hospitals on standby
A red-alert has been issued for hospitals in Punjab in wake of Nawaz and Maryam’s arrival.
Special arrangements are being made in all wards of the hospitals while the staff have been instructed to stay on duty. The provincial health department has also told medical facilities to ensure that blood and medicines are available in case any untoward incident takes place
