The MQM submitted a petition before the Election Commission on Monday, calling for a vote recount in Karachi’s NA-239 constituency.

MQM’s Khawaja Sohail Mansoor lost the election to PTI’s Muhammad Akram on the seat.

In its application, the MQM maintains that the difference of votes between the winner and runner-up is 366 votes while the rejected votes in the constituency are 3,281. The notification declaring the PTI’s Ikram Cheema victorious should be stopped, says the MQM.

Advocate Khawaja Naveed Ahmed and Advocate Dr Mehfooz Yar Khan submitted the petition.
