Maryam Nawaz has claimed that the PML-N is being targeted because its opponents know that the party is going to win the July 25 elections.
“What is happening these days didn’t even happen during the dictatorship,” Maryam told reporters in London on Wednesday.
Maryam and her father Nawaz Sharif are returning to Pakistan on July 13 after they were sentenced to seven and 10 years in prison respectively by an accountability court in the Avenfield properties case.
Captain (retired) Safdar, Maryam’s husband who was sentenced to one-year in prison, has already been arrested by NAB from Rawalpindi and was shifted to Adiala Jail.
When asked about securing pre-arrest bail before her arrival, she said her lawyers were looking into the matter.
