The rain that hit Lahore on Friday, July 13, is not likely to affect the flight schedule, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
Lahore was on lockdown on Friday, with thousands of policemen and Rangers deployed for the arrival of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz.
For the second consecutive day, rain lashed Lahore. The Meteorological department said the chance of rain affecting flights at the Lahore airport is minimal.
It predicted that strong winds are not likely, nor is heavy rain.
As of 12:30pm, 26 millimetres of rain was recorded at the airport while 11mm was recorded in the rest of the city. The rain spell is expected to continue till Sunday, July 15.
Nawaz and Maryam’s flight is expected to land at 6:15pm on July 13.
