Around 300 students at the Government Girls Model School are risking their lives every day to receive an education.
There is an electric transformer in the middle of the school and live wires surrounding it, all of which pose a major threat to the young students.
The 50KV transformer has exploded three times in the past two years.
The administration of the school, which is located in Quetta’s Pashtunabad, say they have sent the Quetta Electric Supply Corporation multiple requests asking for the transformer to be removed but no action was taken.
“Even if one child is injured, is that not a loss?” asked a teacher at the school.
The school is also missing other facilities and there is rarely cleaned.
