The caretaker chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Justice (retd) Dost Muhammad Khan, raided the Peshawar zoo and found that the animals are kept in an unfriendly environment.

He found that a proper record of food is not being maintained and the staff was not trained, leading to a high mortality rate in the zoo. He ordered that the issue be taken up with NAB.

The interim CM was not accompanied by security personnel or any other form of protocol. The CM House was unaware of the visit.
