Election observers from the European Union have said that this election was conducted better than the 2013 election.

They said the army adhered to the code of conduct very strictly.

A member of the team, Michael Gallagher, said they had been invited by the government to observe the elections.

He said the procedure was smooth and peaceful and he saw many people coming to vote.

The team visited some polling stations as part of their observations.
