Army chief confirms death sentences of 12 terrorists

Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa confirmed on Friday death sentences for 12 terrorists.

The accused were found guilty of being involved in killing 99 people including 92 security personnel and seven civilians, said ISPR. They were involved in the attacks on security forces, civilian and education institutes in which 59 people were also injured.

Those who have been awarded the death sentences include Ghani Rehman, Abdul Ghazi, Zia-ur-Rehman, Muhammad Zubair, Umar Nawaz, Sajid Khan, Haibat Khan and Baaz Muhammad.

Six others have been given jail time, said ISPR.

According to ISPR, so far, military courts have awarded death sentences to 231 terrorists.
