A dog was killed because a candidate lost the PK-85 election

Political violence has claimed the life of another animal in Pakistan. Two men killed a dog on Friday after the candidate they were supporting in PK-85 lost the elections.

In a video that went viral on social media, a dog can be seen tied to a tree with a PTI flag on its back. Soon a man enters the screen and shoots the dog in the head.

KP police lodged an FIR and started searching for the accused. On Saturday, police announced that they have arrested the accused and they have confessed to the crime.

According to the police, they are supporters of Qaumi Watan Party candidate Adnan Wazir. When Wazir lost to PTI’s Shah Muhammad Shah, they shot the dog, said the police.

Saying he has nothing to do with the incident, Wazir said the whole situation is a conspiracy against them.

This is not the first time a case of animal cruelty has been reported during the 2018 elections. Earlier, some PTI supporters in Karachi wrote ‘Nawaz’ on a donkey and beat it up. The animal, which was rescued the ACF Animal Rescue, later died of his wounds.
