Supreme Court to announce verdict in contempt case against Daniyal Aziz

The Supreme Court will announce the verdict in the contempt case against Daniyal Aziz on Thursday.

Aziz, who is a former state minister for privatisation, has arrived at the court. Since he arrived late, the court took up other cases. He is now waiting for the court to decide the case against him.

The top court sent him a contempt notice on February 2 over his “controversial speeches and statements made during TV shows”. He was indicted on March 13. The court reserved its verdict on May 3.

The PML-N leader has been issued a party ticket to contest the election from NA-77, Narowal-I.

Strict security measures are in place in and outside the court. An armoured personnel vehicle of the police has reached the court.
