As candidates around the country begin their election campaigns, former provincial minister Sharjeel Inam Memon of the PPP is light years ahead.

He has already spent millions on cars in PS-63 Tharparkar as part of his election campaign.

Memon has had 19 cars prepared in Hyderabad, each bearing pictures of himself and other PPP leaders such as Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari. Each car costs Rs1.8 million.

The cars, all Toyota corollas, are covered with the traditional black, green and red of the PPP.

He has spent a total of Rs34.2 million on the cars, which will be given to supporters in each union council to drive around.
