Even though the Election Commission of Pakistan has banned new development work, roads in some areas of Quetta were constructed overnight, albeit in a shoddy manner.

Broken down roads in PB-27, such as Tin Town, Allah Dina Road, Abdul Aziz Street and Sharae Sultan Muhammad, were constructed overnight.

Residents of the area say that the constituency, formerly part of NA-259 and PB-2, has never been visited by its elected representatives, former MNA Mahmood Khan Achakzai and MPA Syed Agha Raza, in the five years they were in charge. But in a single night, Rs4 million was spent and the roads were all redone.

However, the residents say poor quality material was used in the construction of the roads. According to them, the morning after the roads were made, faults began to develop.

The residents said they will not be taken in by false promises and poor quality development work. They will only vote for candidates who will actually work for their benefit.
