Cell phone users in Pakistan will continue to enjoy 100 percent tax-free mobile credit until cellular networks come up with a tax deduction mechanism.
The good news came on Thursday just three hours before the deadline that the Supreme Court had set for telcos to find an alternative tax collection mechanism.
According to our correspondent, the Federal Board of Revenue and telecommunication companies are likely to hold talks from Monday onwards to establish a new system.
Till then, the consumers will enjoy tax-free mobile credit.
On June 13, the cellphone service providers and FBR were restrained by the apex court from charging the approximately 40% tax on mobile phone top-up cards for two weeks.
