Former PM Nawaz Sharif has expressed reservations over what he called pre-poll rigging and said there would be dire consequence, if it does not stop.
“A dangerous game is being played,” said the former PM. “My party and I have been targeted for the past six months,” he told reporters in London.
Sharif was apparently referring to the Supreme Court’s decision against party leader Daniyal Aziz and recent NAB inquiries against PML-N members.
The former PM criticized the court verdicts and said different judgments were issued for his party and that of his opponents in similar cases.
Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz are in London to be with Kulsoom Nawaz. The family is facing corruption cases in the accountability court.
Maryam Nawaz, Nawaz Sharif’s daughter, also took a dig at the top court over its decision against the party.
“The members of PML-N are being disqualified one by one,” she said. “Why don’t they say once and for all that we are seeing PML-N winning the next elections and we don’t want to let this happen.”
