Justice (retd) Nasir ul Mulk took oath of caretaker Prime Minister on Friday.
The oath taking ceremony was held at President House in Islamabad. President Mamnoon Hussain would administer oath to the caretaker prime minister.
Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, all chiefs of armed forces, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee along with former ministers and parliamentarians were present in the ceremony.
He was nominated as Caretaker Prime Minister by the Government and Opposition.
The retired judge is the seventh caretaker prime minister of Pakistan.
Caretaker Prime Minister Nasir ul Mulk has said that he is here to conduct the elections.
“The 2018 elections will be held on time,” he said during an informal talk with the media during a ceremony on Friday. “I will also facilitate the Election Commission of Pakistan”.
He also hinted on the size of the caretaker cabinet.
“Will try to keep it as concise as possible,” he said. He added that the caretaker cabinet will be constituted as soon as possible.
