Four former PPP ministers have had their nomination papers rejected by the election tribunal.
Former food and parliamentary minister Nisar Khuhro, who also serves as the PPP’s Sindh chapter president, former sports minister Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar, former commerce minister Manzoor Wassan and former special adviser to the chief minister on youth affairs Abid Hussain Bhayo will not be allowed to contest the elections. A special adviser to the CM enjoys the same status as a minister.
After consulting with the PPP’s legal aid committee, they will decide whether they want to approach the Supreme Court against the tribunal’s decision.
Their papers were rejected by the election tribunal because they did not disclose all their assets.
Wassan, who is contesting from PS-27, is accused of owning property and other assets in Dubai. Mahar is contesting from PS-20 Ghotki, Bhayo from NA-198 Shikarpur and Khuhro from PS-11 Larkana.
