More than 25 female students of universities in Peshawar complained about harassment on campus during the past one year, said an NGO. The complaints are unattended to date.

The NGO works for women’s rights in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

When the inquiry committee was asked about the complaints, their focal person, Prof Abdul Rauf, said that they have received only one complaint so far. “Female students should contact us and we will protect their identities,” he said.

According to the NGO, it has been seven years that the bill against harassment was passed but no one was appointed to take charge of the harassment committees.

My parent have 27 years of marriage life. since child hood I have seen that my father is harassing my mother, abuse vulger words, hit my mother,
He also blame that my mother is character less which is completely wrong. He doesn’t buy any cloth for my mother. He insulted her in front of guest. He keep doing mental torcher. He treat my mother as kamwali bai. My mother is fed up with all this. she is not working and her qualification is only F.A .She kept silence/hide thing because she dont want to make family matter public. but from the last 3 year situation is worsen and my father became too aggressive.
My Mother held back, thinking about our future and career. We have been suffering since years but kept quiet. Now we summoned up our courage and want to speak out because she might end up dying at this rate. Could you please help me to protect my mother. .
