KARACHI: Co-Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari has called former SSP Malir Rao Anwar as a brave child who survived the fight against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
He made the statement in his interview to a private news channel.
The former Pakistani president stated that the ex-SSP was one of the police officers who fought against MQM’s militant wing.
Quoting statistics, the PPP leader went on to say that Anwar stated that 54 SHOs took part in the operations under the leadership of General Naseerullah Babar and he was the only one to survive.
It is pertinent to mention that former SSP Malir Rao Anwar has been a prime suspect in carrying out a fake encounter of Naqeebullah Mehsud.
The police officer is missing since.
A contempt of court notice was issued against Anwar over his failure to appear in the court for the hearing of the case against him.
The State Bank of Pakistan has been ordered to seize the assets of the police officer.
