ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Thursday said the rulings of the Supreme Court of Pakistan are revolving exclusively around him.

Talking to media as he reached Accountability Court for Avenfield reference hearing, he alleged all these rulings are being announced in anger and vengeance against him.

The government and the executive have been paralyzed, Nawaz Sharif said adding previously the privilege of executive was snatched away; now, the Parliament has been deprived of its power.

“I was robbed of the premiership on July 28. My name is Muhammed Nawaz Sharif. Snatch it as well,” the former PM said adding, “Frame such an Article of the Constitution that may help rob my name.”

Earlier yesterday (Wednesday), the apex court ruled that a disqualified politician cannot lead a political party, paving the way for the removal of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif from chairing his party, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz.

The court ruled it It comes months after the ruling PML-N party passed Election Act 2017 allowing Sharif to remain at the helm despite being removed from the premiership over graft allegations last July in Panama Papers case. – Samaa
