Memon demands equal treatment for all according to constitution

ISLAMABAD: Former Sindh information minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said said that everybody should be treated equally according to the constitution, Samaa reported.

In his statements on Thursday, Memon said that they were not released on bail while others manage to escape the country.

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader stated that he was not running away and he came to the courts by himself.

He stated that he came for the case hearing despite being ill.

Taking a jibe at former finance minister Ishaq Dar, Memon said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader is outside the country despite being a candidate for Senate elections.

Earlier, Memon was indicted along with other accused in a case of corruption worth millions of rupees in Sindh Information Department.

He and others, accused in corruption case, were charge-sheeted by Accountability Court in closed door proceedings.

The accused pleaded not guilty.

The court summoned the witnesses in the next hearing.

The other accused include former Secretary Information Zulfiqar Shalwani, Yousuf Kaboro, Inam Akbar, Syed Mansoor Hashmi, Altaf Hussain Memon, Umar Shehzad Khan, Syed Naveed, and Syed Masood Hashmi.
