NEWS DESK: In a letter to the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) chairperson, the interior ministry said that substantial reasons should be provided for adding the names of former PM Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain Safdar on the Exit Control List (ECL).
The interior ministry asked why the ruling family should be banned from flying abroad.
On Wednesday, the anti-corruption watchdog had asked the interior ministry to place the names of former premier, his daughter and son-in-law on the ECL.
According to reports, the request was made via letters written to the interior ministry.
The Sharif family is currently facing three corruption references under the Supreme Court orders in the Panama Papers case. – SAMAA
