FAISALABAD: A 30-year-old man was killed by a train on Thursday as he was too engrossed in his cellphone, speaking to someone via his hands-free device.

According to police, Shahid was walking on the railway track with his hands-free device plugged into his ears. Due to the loud noise, Shahid was distracted as a result of which he was unable to hear an old man who tried to warn him about an oncoming train. Police further stated that Shahid was talking to someone on the phone.

The train blared its horn several times but unfortunately, the young man was lost in his own world. He died on the spot as the train ran over him.

Police handed over Shahid's body to his relatives after initial examination.
