NEWS DESK: Quetta and Ziarat received the first snowfall on Thursday. Quetta also received rainfall of 1mm during the last 24 hours.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a shallow westerly wave is prevailing over the upper parts of the country and is likely to persist for the next 24 to 36 hours.
Meanwhile, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, says the Met Office. "However, rain-thunderstorm (with snowfall over the hills) is expected at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara divisions and at isolated places in Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Quetta, Zhob divisions, Islamabad, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir," it added.
