QUETTA: A new CCTV footage shows a brave police officer battling the militant who conducted an attack on Christians in Quetta, on Sunday.

From the CCTV footage one can make out the police officer firing his gun from behind a tree without caring for his own life as he attempts to stop the militants dead in their tracks and prevent them from carrying out an attack on a large scale.

The police officer, after firing at the militant from a few feet away, was finally able to gun him down. Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti said that he would recommend the police officer gets a Presidential award for his valiant service.

At least nine people were killed and 30 others were injured in a blast near a church located at Quetta on Friday.

According to initial reports, a blast and heavy firing was heard near Methodist Church which is located at Zarghoon Road.

Chief Minister (CM) of Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri Sunday strongly condemned the blast outside the Church in Quetta and termed it as cowardly and regrettable.

He also directed the officials concerned to extend every type of cooperation to the families of bomb victims.

CM said the terrorist were the enemies of Pakistan who wanted to destabilize the country. "We stand together in the fight against the evil and we are absolutely sure that it will be defeated," he added.

"Balochistan is in conflict zone and the government and the people of the province are in a state of war. They are fighting against terrorists and our war will continue till complete elimination of the terrorists," he highlighted.

Meanwhile, SSP Operations said that two attackers were killed in the exchange of fire between the terrorists and security forces.

Inspector General Balochistan Moazzam Ansari, speaking to the press, said that two suicide bombers attacked the church.
