RAWALPINDI: Director General ISPR Maj. Gen. Asif Ghafoor has said that Friday’s militant attack on Agriculture Institute in Peshawar was masterminded in Afghanistan, Samaa reported.
While speaking to Samaa, Maj. Gen. Asif Ghafoor said the attack was planned, coordinated and executed by Mullah Fazlullah group of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
He said the Taliban militants, who killed nine people in the assault, were in contact with their commanders in Afghanistan during the attack that was masterminded in Afghanistan.
The DG ISPR said timely action of the armed forced saved many lives.
A spokesman for the TTP, Muhammad Khurasani, claimed responsibility for the attack earlier today.
The ISPR chief said evidences of TTP’s involvement have been shared with Afghanistan, urging Kabul to coordinate with Islamabad to eliminated militants from the region. - Samaa
