ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will on Wednesday submit its reply in the case of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, sentenced to death by a military court, before the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

The draft reply will be submitted to the ICJ by Pakistan Foreign Office’s Director India, Fariha Bugti.

On December 08, Pakistan allowed Jadhav to meet his mother and wife on December 25.

Foreign Office spokesman Mohammad Faisal had told the media that complete security will be provided to the visitors and a diplomat from the Indian High Commission will be allowed to accompany them.

Pakistan had earlier rejected over 30 Indian requests for consular access to Jadhav.

Officials at the foreign ministry said Pakistan’s legal team had finalised Pakistan’s detailed reply to India’s stance submitted with the ICJ.

The reply will be submitted to ICJ in The Hague. Reports said the response to India in ICJ aims at dismissal of New Delhi’s plea to release him.

Media reports said Islamabad would challenge the jurisdiction of the ICJ to hear Jadhav’s case, and will provide evidence to the ICJ to prove his role in the killings of many Pakistanis.

Sources said Pakistan’s response includes concrete evidence of Research and Analysis Wing agent Kulbhushan Jadhav’s confession of involvement in terror-related activities.

India had challenged Jadhav’s conviction in the ICJ.

In May, the United Nations top court ordered Pakistan to stay the execution of Jadhav .

Last year in April, Jadhav was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court on charges of espionage and terrorism.

Jadhav had confessed to the charges in a video, which was posted online by Pakistan army after his arrest. – Samaa
