KARACHI: Former President of Pakistan and Chief of Army Staff General (r) Pervez Musharraf’s spokesperson responded to rumours that he will head a ‘Grand Alliance’ consisting of MQM and PSP.

“Musharraf has no plans to lead a ‘Grand Alliance’ of MQM and PSP,” said APML spokesperson Dr Amjad.

Dr Amjad said that the former army chief had wanted both parties to merge and become one.

Speaking exclusively to SAMAA TV, APML spokesperson Dr Amjad said that it was the wish of General (r) Pervez Musharraf to see the two parties reconcile and that he had also advised other parties to form a grand alliance.

“General sahab (Musharraf) had advised leaders of the two parties in the past as well to merge and end their differences,” he said.
