KARACHI: The first female pilot of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Maryam Mukhtar Shaheed is being remembered on her second death anniversary today.

Ceremonies of Quran Khawani and Fateha Khawani are being organized at different airbases of the country to mark her second death anniversary.

Maryam Mukhtar martyred on November 24, 2015 when her aircraft crashed near Mianwali.


Maryam Mukhtar was born on May 18, 1992. She passed Intermediate examination from Army Public School and College Malir Cantt, Karachi.

She was the best player of football as she played for Balochistan United in National Women Championship.


She joined PAF’s 132nd GD Pilot as graduate in 2014 along with six other girls.

Maryam hailed from a soldier family as her father is a former officer of Pakistan Army. –Samaa
