ISLAMABAD: Accountability Court Tuesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in a case filed against him by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) pertaining to possession of assets beyond known sources of income, Samaa reported.
According to our correspondent, Dar’s guarantor Ahmed Ali Quddusi appeared before Judge Muhammad Bashir as the court resumed hearing into the case.
In today’s proceeding, NAB’s investigator could not turn up at court within the time. NAB officials told the court that the investigator’s arrival from Lahore delayed due to dense fog on the motorway.
The judge enquired from Ahmed Ali Quddusi about when Ishaq Dar, who is currently in London apparently for heart treatment, will appear in the court?
The guarantor said Dar’s complete recovery till take three to six weeks. At which, the judge said the accused is absent from court proceeding for last three weeks.
Meanwhile, the judge issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Ishaq Dar, directing his guarantor to produce the accused before the next hearing on Nov 21.
The same court has already rejected Dar’s application seeking exemption from personal appearance. – Samaa
