ISLAMABAD: A glorious chapter in the history of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) closed as the last flight of the national airliner departed for Lahore from the United States.
PIA flight PK-712 left with 300 passengers from New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to suspend its flight operation for the United States primarily because of financial issues.
Two PIA flights used to fly for New York via Manchester. However, the airliner used to face financial losses worth Rs. 2 billion while flying on this route.
PIA, with a fleet of 32 aircrafts, is still operating in 28 international airports.
Administration issues, over-employment and the poor maintenance of the aircrafts are causing problems for the state institutions for the past 12 years.
