ISLAMABAD: The hustle of educational activities at last returned to Quaid-e-Azam International University as 12 demands of the students have been accepted by varsity and district administrations.
A notification was issued late Thursday night after the university and district administrations held negotiations with the students.
According to notification, 12 out of 13 students’ demands were accepted; prominently, ten percent raise in fees has been reversed.
Thus, a 16-day long strike came to a close with all the barriers removed and gates unlocked.
Deputy Commissioner Mushtaq Ahmed said the Islamabad administration is quite sanguine for further improvement in the situation.
Moreover, decision regarding the reinstatement of the students who were rusticated from the university will be made by the varsity’s Syndicate Committee in the upcoming meeting. –SAMAA
