KARACHI: PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday slammed former president and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, terming him as 'head of the most corrupt mafia'.

Conducting a press conference, the cricketer-turned-politician said that Zardari was the biggest disease of the province.

"Zardari is the biggest beemaari of Sindh," he said. "He is behind political appointments in the province who are doing nothing but serving him," he added.

Imran Khan said that Asif Zardari's 'sugar mafia' was responsible for trampling on the rights of poor farmers in Sindh.

Earlier, Imran Khan had accused Zardari of forcibly grabbing more than 15 sugar mills and had called for an inquiry into the allegations of Lyari gangster Uzair Baloch.

Zardari has also criticised Imran Khan in the recent past, slamming the PTI-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for failing to control dengue and not implementing change as the party promised before forming its government in the province.
