Forced conversions are against the commands of Allah: Imran

KARACHI: PTI chief Imran Khan on Tuesday spoke out against converting non-Muslims to Islam by force, slamming militants who carry out such activities.

Addressing his supporters at a Diwali function held in the metropolis, the PTI chairman said that it was really unfortunate that extremists converted non-Muslims into Muslims forcibly.

"The Holy Quran teaches us that there is no compulsion in religion--hence whoever converts any non-Muslim into a Muslim is not following Allah's injunctions," he said.

The cricketer-turned-politician said that he as well as his party members and all literate Pakistanis who were Muslims did not believe in converting non-Muslims by force.
