HYDERABAD: Sindh University (SU) has removed a bureau director, Fida Chandio, from his post over charges of sexual harassment of female students, said the varsity’s spokesperson.
According to the SU spokesperson, Fida Chandio is facing sexual harassment charges.
He added that the bureau director has been removed from his post.
Meanwhile, another man, Faraz Bughio, who is also facing charges of sexual harassment, was unable to join the Dadu campus where he was transferred as a result of his misconduct. The Dadu campus management refused to allow him to join their campus.
In a letter addressed to Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah and the university’s vice chancellor, two female students ─ writing on “behalf female students [sic] who are victims of harassment” ─ have sought assistance and asked that action be taken against teachers of the English Department.
