SC to hear disqualification petition against Imran Khan from Sept 12

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan will start hearing a petition seeking disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan as a parliamentarian from 12th September.

A three-member bench comprising of Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Umar Atta Bandial and Justice Faisal Arab will hear the case.

Notices have been sent to PTI’s Imran Khan and Jehangir Tareen along with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi.

The petition was filed by Abbas last year who stated that Khan did not give correct details regarding the ownership of his Bani Gala residence and also provided contradictory particulars about his party’s foreign funding.
